European Parliament votes to delay EUDR, the legislative process continues
On 14 November 2024, the European Parliament voted to delay the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by one year, moving the deadline to the end of 2025. This decision responds to concerns from member states and industry stakeholders about readiness. The regulation, which aims to prevent the sale of deforestation-linked products in the EU, will now give larger operators until 2025 to comply, with small businesses getting until mid-2026. The final law is expected to be agreed by the end of the year.
